This may just end up being my absolute favorite post from this past summer. The backstory: Broghan has been on a mission since Spring got here to obtain, chop down and stock up on as much firewood as possible. We ran out of our wood in the middle of last year's frigid winter and he is bound determined not to have that happen again this year (which I'm totally on board with). We also wanted wood for bonfires. Well as some may know, purchasing firewood when you live in WI is quite painful and expensive. I mean, WHY would we buy it when we are literally SURROUNDED by down trees??? Thankfully, the local little airport has a ton of land and a ton of trees that they are happy to let us cut up and haul home. So, it was on one of these excursions to pick up the wood that Broghan had already cut up that my children discovered how creative they could get with a permanent marker. Poor Raegan was food for the taking as she was strapped into her car seat. The other two are strapped in in the pictures - but this was AFTER we discovered what they had done while we were just outside of the car. Moral of the story: Kids will NEVER be allowed to freely roam our vehicle again...even if no markers are in it!
When we discovered what had happened I asked Keller why he would draw on Rae and Lucy and his own faces? His response "we are kitty cats!"
